Hear it tangle
Octaflux is an instrument made of eight voices that play each other. Who modulates whom, and how much, is drawn by hand in an 8 x 8 matrix: each row is a source voice, each column a destination. Three modes decide what the voices are, four macros shape the whole, and it needs no MIDI: load it and it sounds. It is free.

Draw the matrix
Row = source, column = destination. Paint cells with SOFT, HALF or FULL ink: each one makes a voice move another. CLEAR empties the matrix, RANDOM draws a new one.

Choose a mode
RESONATE (struck resonant filters), FOLD (sines into a wavefolder) or SHATTER (pulses, ring modulation, sample & hold) decide what the eight voices are and what the matrix does to them.

Shape it with four macros
PITCH, COLOR, SPACE and FLOW move all eight voices at once. Draw a pitch and a level shape across the voices for chords, clusters and slow beatings.
